We are pleased to welcome Usk Art Group to Nevil Hall Hospital this summer:

"We are a small friendly group of amateur artists coming from a variety of backgrounds, with a diverse range of styles and work. Our skills and experience have continued to grow over the years, tackling media such as oil, acrylics, pastels and watercolour. "

Originally under the tutelage of local artist and art lecturer Peter Seabourne we formed as a group in 2007 but members only started exhibiting in 2010 when offered its present venue at The Grange (formally Usk Conservative Club) to hold its first exhibition.

Our aim is to meet once a week on a Wednesday during term time.  Members create artwork of their own choice using their own materials. There is no regular formal tuition and the aim is to learn and develop by helping one another, paint, share ideas and produce good quality affordable art, covering a variety of subjects.

An Exhibition of members’ work is held annually in the Summer during Usk Open Gardens weekend. This has often been a successful event for the group. In 2019 the Club was asked if members would like to display work on a regular basis at the Olway Inn, Usk, as well as at the Grange, both venues offering great opportunities for displaying original pieces. Hopefully, in 2021, the club will see further growth in its membership and a continuation of its exceptional ability to produce original pieces of artwork.

Through Gwent Arts in Health we are pleased to have the opportunity of exhibiting our work here at Nevill Hall.

This is the 69th show in a series of exhibitions in and around Nevill Hall Hospital, organised by Gwent Arts in Health. Garth is a local charity that realises the potential of the arts in promoting health and wellbeing.
